Kiva - loans that change lives

Corporate & Social Responsibility is about a company and the people that work there protecting and giving back to community and the world at large. Frontier Solutions is a small company, but we understand the great value of everyone, no matter how small, playing their part. All of us, as individuals and businesses, have a responsibility to minimize our negative impact on the environment and to give back what we can to the world community that we are all part of.

So in that spirit at Frontier Solutions we do what we can to achieve this.
  • We believe the paperless office is achievable (well almost!). Unless our clients request otherwise, all of our correspondence, including invoicing, is electronic. We prepare and distribute all documentation such as training and support manuals, status reports and other paperwork in electronic form only.
  • We are energy savers with an ecological office policy that involves plenty of daylight, energy saving lighting and equipment.
  • We recycle and use recycled materials wherever possible.
We support local/international charities and micro-lending schemes
  • NSPCC - The London Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children was founded in 1884. It changed its name to The National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC) in 1889. Its aim then was to protect children from cruelty, support vulnerable families, campaign for changes to the law and raise awareness about abuse. Today, the NSPCC looks very different, but its purpose remains the same: 'To End Cruelty To Children'. They have 180 community-based projects and run the NSPCC Helpline and ChildLine in the UK and the Channel Islands. Most of their work is with children, young people and their families. They also work to achieve cultural, social and political change - influencing legislation, policy, practice, public attitudes and behaviours and delivering services for the benefit of young people. They want to see a society where all children are loved, valued and able to fulfil their potential. To do this, they have four objectives:
    • To mobilise everyone to take action to end child cruelty.
    • To give children the help, support and environment they need to stay safe from cruelty.
    • To find ways of working with communities to keep children safe from cruelty.
    • To be, and be seen as, someone to turn to for children and young people.
  • Kiva - Their mission is to connect people through lending for the sake of alleviating poverty. Kiva is the world's first online person-to-person micro-lending portal, empowering individuals and companies to lend directly to unique but struggling entrepreneurs around the globe. Kiva partners with existing expert microfinance institutions. In doing so, they gain access to outstanding entrepreneurs from impoverished communities world-wide.
    • Microfinance helps very poor individuals and communities meet basic needs and protect against risks.
    • The use of financial services by low-income persons is associated with improvements in household economic welfare and enterprise stability or growth.
    • By supporting women's economic participation, microfinance helps to empower women, thus promoting gender-equity and improving household well-being.
  • Association of Jersey Charities - Their objectives are to encourage charitable and community work in Jersey and, in particular, to encourage co-operation and co-ordination of activities between members and prospective members, promote discussion and exchange of ideas regarding service to the community. To administer the distribution to members of any funds available to the Association. The Association also aims to work closely with members to increase public confidence in the integrity of charity.
We would like to take this opportunity to invite you, either independently or with us, also to support the above charities.

These are small steps, but they all have an impact and as part of a bigger world effort, we believe it makes difference.
